English as a Foreign Language/Conversation

One of our students, Renata, from Slovakia, says, "I am sure it was my best decision after arriving in the UK, to improve my English language skills with Kings English. I am suprised myself how much my language skills have increased. And what is really great - the lessons are interesting and very enjoyable. I hope that other students will get this great opportunity like me to learn with Kings English, as well. You have to try it!"
EFL Business Lessons
You may wish to study specific skills to use in your workplace, such as telephoning, giving presentations, negotiation, language used in meetings and so on. Lessons can be arranged to give training in these and other areas needed to operate successfully in the business world. Please select the Business English page on the left, for details.
English as a Foreign Language
Lessons for English as a Foreign Language will be planned especially to suit your needs. You may spend time practising speaking, learning about a new item of grammar, working on pronunciation or discussing how your writing can be improved.
Higher level learners will learn idioms and phrasal verbs, along with vocabulary and grammar. You will also discuss the work you do from your self-study programme in order to work on your errors and improve your accuracy. Some students like being tape-recorded speaking and then having correction afterwards.
Self Study Programme
Every week you will be given a special self-study programme. This adds a lot to the value of your course and it includes work for an extra 4 to 6 hours of study, with suggestions and materials for reading, grammar, listening, speaking topics, and one piece of writing.
If you need to study grammar, there will be certain exercises to do each week. Every student will also be given guidance about learning vocabulary.
EFL Conversation Classes
For those who only want to practise speaking skills, learn some new vocabulary and a little grammar, you might prefer just conversation classes. Each class lasts for 90 minutes.
Because there is no self-study programme, these classes are cheaper than normal lessons. You can apply to join on your own, which will be more expensive or join with friends. Joining a class with friends of the same level is cheaper for you.
Cost of Lessons
These prices include the cost of a weekly self study programme and most of your study materials. Your initial assessment and test is FREE. Please note that Business English lessons cost slightly more. Prices are available on request.
Note: If you want to follow a book, you will need to buy this separately; if you need exam practice, you may need to pay a little extra for practice test materials.
